Exclusive: Mena Suvari (American Beauty), Jeffrey Donovan (Sicario) and Cam Gigandet (Twilight) are set to star opposite James C. Clayton (Bullet Proof) in Briefcase, 8, a new new-noir action film which Clayton is directing.
Set in a city where the rain never stops and the truth is buried in alleyways, Briefcase, 8 follows 8, a weary hitman who takes one last job from his ruthless boss (Donovan) to escape with the woman he loves (Suvari). But as blood spills over a mysterious briefcase, he must outwit his enemies (Gigandet) and uncover the truth to survive.
Production is underway in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Kamloops, British Columbia, with Marc Petey and Jonnie Broi producing. Exec producers include Evan Tylor and Caterina Scrivano of IndustryWorks Studios, which is handling worldwide distribution and sales for the film, as well as Keli Price of Price Productions, who negotiated talent deals on behalf of the production
Clayton comes to Briefcase, 8 after directing the action drama Get Fast, with Lou Diamond Phillips, as well as the actioner Bullet Proof, led by Vinnie Jones. He is repped by Innovative Artists, The Characters Talent Agency, and Luber Roklin Entertainment.
Suvari is repped by Innovative Artists, Management Production Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen Tyerman. Donovan is repped by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum. Gigandet is also repped by Innovative Artists.
