It was such a joy to finally be able to witness, Witherspoon’s latest offering and boy what an offering it is. It has been ages since I’ve witnessed a cat and mouse tale and thankfully the wait was worth it.

Rage follows a young man in his thirties, who unintentionally provokes the wrath of a motorcyclist one day and they are soon thrown into a confrontation which leads to something else.

So the film opens innocently enough, we witness our protagonist, Dennis Twist (Rick Crawford) who just happens to be on his day off when suddenly he gets an influx of calls and a friendly neighbour asking for help with his recently acquired chainsaw. Soon, Dennis is away in his car after saying such pleasantries to his loving and very beautiful wife Crystal Twist (Audrey Walker).

Dennis, who appears to be the perfect husband holds a dirty little secret, he has been having an affair with another woman named Dana (Anna Lodej), soon he parks up his car, but in the process he steals a mysterious biker’s (Christopher Witherspoon)  parking spot ungraciously. He the proceeds to meet his other lover, Dana. Soon they embrace and Dana is obviously smitten by Dennis, unfortunately, today is the day that he wants to break-up and Dana is obviously upset, but he leaves knowing that Dana’s ex has apparently been released from prison.

From here on, Dennis encounter’s the mysterious biker again and their encounters turn into petty taunts and jibes but things soon escalate into something more and their battle intensifies into an all out cat and mouse game. Could this mysterious biker be Dana’s ex-boyfriend, this is one question that is constantly on Dennis’ mind.

Soon paranoia sets in as there encounter’s become much more intense and we are in for an edge of your seat experience as we watch Dennis become the hunted as he tries to escape and hide from this biker. The film will have you hooked to the screen as we watch their every move.

Soon the ante turns up to eleven as we are brought into the chilling and absolutely brutal climax. Some may think, Christopher Witherspoon went too far, I thought he finished in such an adrenaline filled finale which certainly had its fair share of what the fuck moments. This for me is, Duel for the 21st century, a bold statement, but this film perfectly captured the essence which Stephen Spielberg gave us and, Witherspoon used that blueprint and gave us Rage.

I absolutely loved this, it won’t be for everyone, but, if you do get the chance to witness Rage, do it, you will not be disappointed, I’m still buzzing now. I award Rage a 9/10 for simply blowing me away, bravo, Christopher Witherspoon, bravo.
