Wrecker is a roadside thriller, from Industry Works Pictures. The film involves two friends and an anonymous truck driver. Together, they vie for an isolated roadway. One part Steven Spielberg’s Duel (1971), the film stars Anna Hutchison and Andrea Whitburn. This film will be taken to Cannes, beginning May 13th. And, the film’s first trailer is hosted here.
The clip shows more of the film’s story. Emily (Hutchison) and Lesley (Whitburn) are forced off the road, by a rogue tow truck driver. They try to escape, but help is nowhere to be found.
The setting is supposed to be an American state. However, the shooting location is easily recognizable as British Columbia, this horror fan’s home province. The interior, of B.C., is full of long highways and isolated dirt roads, some of which can be seen in the trailer, below.
