A DVD release for the Roman Empire feature could be followed by a planned TV series
Grindstone Entertainment has picked up the U.S. distribution rights to The Lost Legion, a feature from Industryworks Studios set in ancient Rome and due out on DVD and digital platforms before a planned TV series.
In a deal coming before the American Film Market, Lionsgate Home Entertainment will release the Brian Caspe– and MichelleLukes-starrer across a host of ancillary platforms in 2015. That distribution comes via a film slate deal Lionsgate has with Grindstone.

Vancouver-based Industryworks Studios said it then plans a follow-up The Lost Legion TV series from executive producers Evan Tylor, John Curtis and Lloyd Simandl. “We’re very excited to launch this movie with Grindstone Entertainment, and we look forward to continuing to deliver high-end TV content into the marketplace,” said Tylor, Industryworks’ CEO, on Wednesday in a statement.
The feature stars Lukes as the manipulative Urbina Prima, the wife of Roman Emperor Maximus, who is played by Caspe. Also starring is Tom McKay as the Legions hero Taranis and Jim High as Argos.

Recent IndustryWorks Studios genre film credits include American Mary and Wrecker, which starsAnna Hutchison (Cabin in the Woods).
